Week 3 Rhyming Couplets

Louise's Rhyming Couplets

William and Wendy went walking on a windy day.
They got to the park, they played with their pet and after that they decided to play.

When Zoe and Zara went to the zoo they saw a zebra eating food.
When they got closer he was drinking  tea at the top of a tree  in a very bad mood.

Rhyming Couplets by Ayla Wood

I saw my friend Dale,
He was very pale.

The ship was set to sail,
To deliver some mail

I heard a knocking,
It was shocking

I have a Pear,
I want to share.

I had a book,
It showed me how to cook.

The boat was rocking,
No way was it docking

My mum is silly,
But so it Billy

The burglar did a crime
He had to do time

I meet my friend Mandy
We went to the beach for candy
But it got all sandy

My horse is called Mable
She is kept in the stable
Tied up with a cable

The backyard was covered in fog
I could not even see my dog
Or the frog sitting on the log

Ben's Rhyming Couplets

Creeping crawling disgusting bugs,

Slimy sliding fat juicy slugs.

Ghostly grey mysterious mist,

I wait until it starts to lift.

Hacking through the twisting and tangled trees,

Tripping onto my scratched and bleeding knees.

The Wolf and the Wasp

The ferocious wild wolf was walking quietly through the gym.
While he was walking a wasp stung him.
The wolf wailed and went wild.
The wacky wasp winked and smiled.

Isolation

I miss going to Wash the skate park.
I wish I could go even in the dark.

I miss my dad.
Because he's so rad.

Seeing my friends is going to have to wait
Isolation I really HATE

It ain't all bad not going to school
I'm actually finding that pretty cool

After school work I get to play
I wish I could do that all day

Mum and I play catch
Mum has really met her match
Riding  on my quarter pipe
Tring to get my trick just rite

So isolation is good and bad
I hope my poem makes you glad

Some others might be feeling like Isaac does

Lockdown

I'm stuck here in lockdown

It really makes me frown

Lockdown is so boring

Then the rain starts pouring

What am I going to do all day
Can't stop thinking about it till its May
Streets are so lonely
They used to be full of macaroni

Rhyme Time Beyblade Edition

The bladers are in their stance

And their beyblades are ready to dance

Knowing when their beyblades hit the ground
They will start to move around
One blader does a nice rip
The 2nd blader makes trip
One beyblade glides in the air
One is jumping everywhere
One beyblade finds some prey
The other beyblade runs away
The blader thinks of the crown
Then his dreams crash on down
The hope of the crown slowly fades
As he sees his beyblade where it lays
One bey was spinning strong
The other wonders where it went wrong

Tree Poetry By Ronan

On the trees out in the sun
leaves are leaving, one by one

In summer there’s leaves and in winter there’s not
In autumn there’s some and in spring there’s lots

The Clown

A clown is funny

He performs with a bunny

On his round tummy.

The happy cat

I have a happy cat

He likes to sit on his mat
And stare at the rat.

The dragon
The roaring dragon
Had scaly skin and fire breath
Makes a big loud noise.

A sword for sure seeks serenity
The knight that needs the remedy

Poised with perfect patience
Free to flutter with her fragrance

Gentle giants gallop round
Through the field without a sound

Castle vines climb carefully
While children sigh gleefully

Tethered terrors give thanks
And Personal partners play pranks

These two girls look like they had a wonderful time writing these
Lucy and Niamh's couplets and poem

Oh COVID19 is evil and sinister
Good thing we have the best prime minister
But it  still set its anchor down here
I'm glad level 2 draws ever so near
I cannot wait for the company of friends
But hopefully in 2 weeks it ends!
This global pandemic will go down in history
How it all started is still a big mystery
The spider crawled out of his hiding place
And wow the girl screamed you should've seen her face

Give me milk you big fat cow
I'm thirsty, I need it, I need it right now

The weather is bad down pours the rain
Flowing and flowing right down the drain

I really don't like this brand new book
I only brought because of its look

On through the storm goes the small boat
I stand there and shiver without a raincoat

I stand for hours and look at the stars
But I still don’t recognise nore see mars

Mum says to eat cherries and mountains of pears
I eat chocolate and am fat but who cares

A lady was standing by the tree
Then I notice it is a he

I accidentally sat on my hat
Then I found out it was my cat!

Look out look out there's a buldoza coming! You'll meet your doom!
I really don't care if you're just being funny. Ka Boom!
I once went to a quiz night
But the fart he did went up in height

I went to a dance, the people were snobby and rude
The only reason I went is because of the fancy food

Two heads are better than one they say
But as i found out the other day
A donkey's head is all hay

Bees, they always go ‘humm’
But really they are very dumb

The pig went snort snort ill translate that for you
He really needs to go for a poo

The sun shines brightly in the sky
hotter, helium? it is so high

Annoying, angry, abominable, atrocious these are words
That will describe your brother that smells like a dead bird

by Lucy and Niamh

Some the more grander
Coated in amber

Of carnelian, bronze, opals and chrome
A crown fit for Caesar, old ruler of Rome

Some of the rooms fit for Slughorn, Horace,
One even looks like the Forbidden Forest!

Everything mysterious to the Marauders Map
Everywhere you look a magical mishap

When playing Quidditch you should always pick
A Firebolt, the very best broomstick

The moon at night in a sort of gloom
Still shines so bright in a partial bloom.

The suns ray gives a deadly glare
Within the day it gives a heat to bear.

A ghost wanders lonesome in the woods
A ghastly presence prompts upon the forest like a hood.

The evening shining in its glistening light
A tree once bright now in a blistering silhouette sight.

The sun rises as if a beast was awakened
As the people watched it was one of their least reawakens.

Anzac Poppies

First, I collected some red Autumn leaves.
Second, I drew a poppy on a piece of paper.
Third, I glued the leaves on a cardboard and shaped them into a poppy flower.
Last, I cut them out and put a wooden stick on the back.

Lest we forget
Anzac Day 2020.

Autumn Poem
By Felix Thompson

When the leaves change colours and the air turns cold
I see the time move, saying that  Autumn has come.
Trees shine with gold and ruby red leaves like a soft  carpet to lie on.
The grass and paths made crunchy noises as dogs and people walked by.
Burning velvet red and blood orange brushing the landscape.
Beautiful blue skies with caramel hills.
The winds swirl nutty and undress the trees until the last leaf falls.
