Shared Poem that Nav 1 wrote together

The Waterfall

Calmly, deceptively gliding water
Slowly inching closer,
Approaching its tumbling death,
Teetering at the edge of its fatal fall.
Then…
Plummeting down the deathly giant
Crashing, foaming endlessly downwards
Belting out a furious roar,
Rapidly gushing to the dreaded end.
Tiny drops of foam and mist float down,
Exploding on the jagged rocks
Where the eye meets the mouth
Settling into the great green depths.

    Science Interchange

Science Interchange will running for the next 5 weeks.

Each of the syndicate teachers has a fun experiment organised for you to do on Wednesday afternoon between 1.45 and 2.45,  This will be running for the next 5 weeks

To help with Ms Williams's experiment I would like to ask if any one in Nav 1 could please lend Ms Williams some small pliers to use during this science Interchange. I need these to help bend copper wire. I will personally ensure they are looked after.

Reminder about Banqer Auction on Friday 5th June for Nav 1

    Hi Parents

On Friday 5th June Navigators 1 are going to hold a Trademe style auction at school. We have asked the children to bring one item from home that can be auctioned.
 It could be:

  • Anything they no longer want, toy, book etc
  • Something they have made e.g bracelet, artwork, baking ( make this no more than 3 biscuits, 3 cupcakes, one slice of cake)
  • If a child wants to bring a little set of something e.g. a set of 3 bracelets that will count as 1 item

The item will be sold for Banqer dollars ( cyber money) therefore no real money is exchanging hands. The child that bids the highest amount will get to take the item home. If an item doesn’t sell the child (seller) will take it back home. I have put a link in this email to a document outlining what we have told children about the auction.

Just to make sure your child is not bringing an item you don’t want them to bring, can you please send a signed note or send an email to say you approve of their item.

The note can be something like this.

I approve of my child’s item.

Child’s name: ______________________

Item _____________________________

Signed: ___________________________

Many thanks
Sheryl, Jane, Catherine
