Thursday 16th April
You must read some of the fantastic poems that students in our pod wrote today based on a poem called "The Calm Before the Storm "
The calm before the storm
Vibrant,
Humid,
Those are the climate’s ominous lies
Howling winds whistle into the far,
Puffed marshmallows of
MALICE
Waltz in,
Encouraging the pounding droplets filled with sorrow.
Signals
To Mr Thunder,
Ear splitting
BOOMS
As lighting fires back words of war
When the storm calms I vow to never listen to
The calm before the storm.
Kahutaiki
I look out my window the sky looks fine
The sun is playing hide and seek through the clouds
It looks like a promising day
But i see great storm clouds taking their time
Now the sun cannot be found
The rain starts to pour
Like water from a bottle
It hits my roof
Now it has started
The trees wail in the storm
The fog practice a complicated dance
While rain drops swirl around it
The clouds start juggling hailstones
But they drop every single bit
It drops on my roof
The sounds i hear are a distant bellow and the crack of
Thunder that is closely followed by lightning
It eliminates the sky in every shade of yellow -
Jet
Jet
My storm poem
The lush, tall grass begins to sway,
Side to side in the rushing wind,
Clouds are swirling round,
And the sun starts to fade away
Rain starts thundering down,
Banging on people's roofs
The trees start to whisper
Then shout,
As the wind gets stronger,
Never listen to the calm before the storm
The calm before the storm
Ominous clouds hover over the eerie surroundings
The steady wind waits ready to pounce and break mother nature's awkward silence
The spine chilling air lingers through the surreal atmosphere
While the once bright yellow sun fades into the darkness of the clouds
light rain starts to fall on the ground, continuing to grow heavier, and heavier as it falls
This is the calm before the storm
